Meet the Human Behind the Chaos
Chaotic Neutral Academy was born out of necessity—and a whole lot of love.
My name is Harley, and I’m a parent of neurodivergent children, and I learned firsthand that one-size-fits-all education simply doesn't fit every child.
I also have a bachelor’s degree in Education and have been a reference librarian so research on new techniques and neurodivergence is ever growing
My kids taught me that learning doesn't happen on a universal timeline. One child might grasp something immediately while another needs more time, a different explanation, a hands-on experience, or a completely different approach. Sometimes they need a combination of learning styles, a different environment, or simply the freedom to learn without being rushed.
And that isn't failure.
That's learning.
I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a background as a reference librarian, which means I have both the educational foundation and the research skills to keep learning right alongside my students.
The field of neurodivergence and education continues to evolve, and so do I. I believe good educators never stop learning. I continually research new approaches, tools, strategies, and ways of understanding neurodivergent learners so that I can bring what I learn into our school.
I watched the traditional school system fail our children time and again, which brought me to homeschooling my own children. That experience reinforced something I already knew:
There is no magic curriculum. There is no universal timeline. And there is definitely no single “right” way to learn.I started Chaotic Neutral Academy because I wanted something different—not just for my own children, but for other kids who have been told, directly or indirectly, that they are too much, too slow, too distracted, too different, or simply not doing school “right.”
I don't believe children should have to change who they are to succeed at school.
I believe we should change the way we teach to meet the child in front of us.
That's what we do here.
We follow the learner—not a rigid timeline. We combine approaches when one approach isn't enough. We celebrate the weird, wonderful ways our kids' brains work. And yes, sometimes learning looks a little chaotic.
That's okay.
We're not here to create perfectly square pegs.
We're here to help kids understand how their brains work, discover what they're capable of, find their joy, and become unapologetically themselves.
Welcome to Chaotic Neutral Academy.
It's a little unconventional around here. That's kind of the point.
